New Improvements
Alan Gibson and Karl Veen of Bridgestone's NSW Technical Field Service Unit operate a large office in Bridgestone's state head quarters at Yagoona.
Alan who heads the unit is responsible for many roles including supervising new unreleased test tyres; evaluating the performance of all current Bridgestone tyres in use in NSW, from small car tyres to large truck tyres, and providing valuable advice, training and support to all Bridgestone tyre dealers and major accounts such as Jim Pearson Transport.
Bridgestone Australia prides itself on the technical support and expertise of its technical field service unit in each state, and the valuable information they collect and send to Bridgestone's large tyre factory in Adelaide.
This information enables continual design improvements to be made to new tyres.
It is this focus on technical manufacturing excellence, which has made the Bridgestone Corporation one of the largest and most highly respected tyres manufacturers in the world.

Time to check tyres
CHRISTMAS is nearly upon us and what a great time of the year it is.
Every Christmas when student children return from college or university some parents are amazed to find their son's or daughter's car, has no tread on one, if not all of its tyres.
The hectic social, study and working lifestyle has taken a decided precedent over car maintenance.
As such, it's up to mums and dads to check the car over and make it safe for next year.
If travelling this holiday, please spend time to check your tyres before departing.
Check the pressure and check to see they all have at least 1.6mm of tread across the surface of the tyre.
Each year we remove tyres from cars with wire exposed on one side of the tyre as shown in the photo.
The tyre looks fine on the car, but when you get down and look on the inside of the tyre, there is no tread.
If these tyres are continued to be driven, one could blow out causing loss of vehicle control.
If you are not sure drop in to Cleavers Tyres for a free inspection and peace of mind.
Cleavers Tyres and Bridgestone wish you and your family a happy and a safe business and a great New Year.
